Restaurant dining room with cassette air conditioning in the ceiling

A dining room people linger in

Kitchen heat, full covers and a glazed frontage stack up fast. We keep the dining room at a temperature guests want to sit in, without pulling kitchen smells across the room or fighting your extraction.

What this sector needs

Designed around how the building is actually used

01

Kitchen heat bleeding through

A pass with no separation turns the dining room into an extension of the kitchen. We zone cooling so the front of house holds its own temperature.

02

Odours and grease

Cooling and extract have to work together. We design supply and extract positions so cooking smells leave at the canopy, not over the tables.

03

Short trading windows

Restaurants cannot lose a Friday night. Installations are planned around closed days and overnight, with the room left clean and trading-ready.

Systems we specify

The right hardware for the room, not a one-system answer

Ceiling cassettes

Discreet cooling over covers, fitted into a new or existing ceiling without eating into the room's character.

Ducted systems

Concealed plant with slot diffusers, ideal where the ceiling design is part of the fit-out.

Zoned VRF

Separate dining, bar and back-of-house zones, so a quiet lunch service is not cooled like a full Saturday night.

Example installations

How a project here comes together

Typical commercial projects of this size and shape from our work across Devon and the South West.

60-cover restaurant, 140 m²

Three cassettes in the dining room and one in the bar, on a single outdoor unit, installed across two closed Mondays.

Guests stay for dessert on warm evenings instead of asking for the door to be opened.

Café with glazed frontage

High-level ducted supply to counter the solar gain from a south-facing window, with blinds and controls agreed with the owner.

The window seats stay usable through the afternoon sun.

Ongoing maintenance

Looked after for the life of the system

Grease and cooking vapour travel. A restaurant system needs cleaning more often than a domestic one, and the schedule has to fit around service.

F-Gas registered · REFCOM registered
Filter and coil cleaning planned for closed days, with before-and-after checks recorded.
Condensate and drainage checks so nothing drips near food service areas.
F-Gas leak checks, refrigerant records and TM44 support for systems above 12 kW.

Common questions

FAQs

Can you work while we trade?

We can, where the work is away from customers, but most restaurant installs are programmed for closed days or overnight so service is never interrupted.

Do we need an air conditioning inspection?

In England and Wales, systems with a rated cooling output above 12 kW need an inspection by an accredited assessor every five years. We can arrange and coordinate it.

Will cooling fight our kitchen extract?

Not if it's designed properly. We balance supply and extract together so the room stays comfortable and smells go up the canopy, not across the tables.
